I believe that there is always a lesson behind mistakes. There is always a room for improvement, I know that there were many places that I could have done better than that. But there was a short time for a lengthier work so I let it go with the flow. It was a completely life changing experience as I developed many practical skills during the whole project. I really did not know, how to use any of the softwares like adobe photoshop and adobe primere pro. From learning basics at the starting classes of media studies to producing my own well-designed magazine. I never imagined that I have developed my skills to this extent. This all nourishes my practical skills. First I learned that you need to be polite and respectful, when convincing others to act upon your idea. Sometimes, I get frustrated and get harsh on my group mate, Haseeb. But later I realised that we could have saved much time which could be utilised productively. Convincing other people than my groupmate was also amazing. I see my self confidence boost when I successfully convinced others for my cause. The disagreement was also a learning experience as I would now know how to do it better. For instance, I tried to convince, Haseeb, to post the instagram polls on his instagram account but he asked the same from me. Later, we both did not do that because we have a egoistic argument. I think that we should respect other opinions for that and do not persuade them further.
I feel like a director when I was deciding the locations, equipment, props, costumes, and casting before the production. Now I know that a professional work is always well-planned before even starting the project. Everything needs to be ready so that the shooting process is smooth and steady.
Talking about my media skills, I learned to use photoshop. Selection tools, dropper tool, color palettes, transform tool, blending options like stroke and shadows, drop caps tool, brush tool, rectangle tool, and masking tool, were all unknown to me before I took media studies. I learned about the photography information as I never used camera before. I tried to apply on term like depth of field, rule of third, and filling the frame. I came to know that negative spaces are important as the frame will look tidy with it. Alignment also acts as the same function as the frame looks more professional with that. I admit that my alignment were not always right as my page number six could be aligned better. Consistency and fluency is also important in the whole magazine as the idea must be kept same for designing all the feature articles. I rightly believe, that after making all the improvements, I could step into the practical world in future.
